A Note from Rebecca (KO4KVG)

Rebecca Key KO4KVG headshotHi everyone! It’s Rebecca, the new Communications Manager here at ARDC. I’m the one that puts together the newsletters and gets on social media to keep the community informed. There’s so much happening here at ARDC, and I’m excited to step in to report on it. You can read more about me here.

I can’t say it enough, but I’m thrilled to be a part of the team here at ARDC. Everyone here has been so kind and welcoming, and it is truly appreciated!

If you have any news and/or information that you think I should be aware of, please don’t hesitate to reach out at comms@ardc.net or on any of our social media platforms. Until then, 73!

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Update

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and its subcommittees have been working to progress the 44Net ecosystem to become an even better community resource for all hams. We are excited to announce the following activities being advanced this quarter:

  • Roadmap Subcommittee:
    • Update of the 44Net End User License Agreement
    • Documentation of the 44Net IP Address space allocation policy (band plan)
  • Point-of-Presence (PoP) Subcommittee:
    • Development of PoP infrastructure led by Adam Lewis (KC7GDY) and Zach Seguin (VA3ZTS) that can enable inexpensive routers to easily connect to publicly routable 44Net IP addresses via a VPN tunnel.

Additional updates from the Embedded, Portal, and Wiki subcommittees coming soon. Thank you to all TAC members for working together to improve the 44Net experience.

73, Jon
