Upcoming Community Deadlines and Notices
What ARDC Has Been Up ToThis month, Rebecca (KO4KVG) attended the Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society (GARS) TechFest on January 13, 2024, in Lawrenceville, GA. Local GET member Ben Greve (KO4KVH) also attended. They met prospective grantees, as well as many folks that were interested in learning more about ARDC, and even a few long-time members of our 44Net community. Outside of the booth, Rebecca gave a forum, providing an overview of our Grants Program, along with some recent 44Net updates. It was great getting the word out about ARDC in the Peach State! ARDC Welcomes Bob Witte (K0NR) to the ARDC Board of Directors! The ARDC team is pleased to announce that on January 5, 2024, Bob Witte, K0NR, joined our Board of Directors. Licensed since 1977, Witte developed an interest in amateur radio while pursuing his undergraduate studies. He is a member of several amateur radio organizations, including ARRL, AMSAT, and QRP Amateur Radio Club International. He is actively involved in Parks on the Air (POTA), and he recently authored a chapter of The Parks on the AirⓇ Book. He is also involved in Summits on the Air (SOTA), founding the SOTA-related Colorado 14er Event. “I have worked with Bob Witte on the Grants Advisory Committee for 3 years,” says ARDC Outreach Manager John Hays, K7VE. “He took over chairing the committee from me the last two years and brought significant improvements to the process. He is very knowledgeable and organized and will be a great asset to ARDC serving on the Board.” …more New Committee Members for 2024Welcome to a whole new year - and new volunteer teams for our four Advisory Committees! As the 2023 term recently ended, we will be saying goodbye to some of our volunteers and welcoming in our new ones.
