The West Central Louisiana Amateur Radio Club serves a large rural region across Vernon and surrounding parishes, supporting local amateurs, emergency communication partners, and community events. The club maintains multiple repeaters, trains new operators, and provides communication support during hurricanes and other emergencies, but its infrastructure was heavily impacted by the 2020 storms.

With the awarded funding, the club will replace damaged equipment, upgrade critical components, and complete tower repairs to restore its primary repeater systems and APRS capability. These improvements will return wide area coverage, improve reliability for emergency use, and give both new and experienced operators dependable access to the club’s network.
