QRP Sponsoring Organization, Inc. (QSO)’s mission is to foster global collaboration and knowledge sharing among amateur radio enthusiasts to enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Their core emphasis is on the critical role amateur radio plays in natural disaster communication. We aim to provide a vital lifeline during emergencies such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods, where traditional infrastructure often fails. QSO supports the development and dissemination of low-power (QRP) technologies 6, which are essential for resilient and portable communication in disaster-affected communities.

QSO was awarded an ARDC grant to produce 100 fully-assembled (PCBA) Open-Source QRP Modular Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for educational distribution at the 2026 Lamakaan Annual Radio Convention (LARC) in India. This project aims to advance amateur radio’s critical role in natural disaster communication by developing and disseminating resilient, low-power (QRP) technology. Grant funds will ensure high-quality SMT assembly, technical compliance, and distribution of these educational kits to foster global collaboration and preparedness.
