Date: May 2026
Amount: $76,714

JARL Kyoto Club was founded in 1947 and has been a long-established and leading amateur radio club in Kyoto Prefecture. The motto of the club is “Always Keep the Pioneering Spirits and Keep on Challenging as Radio Amateurs.” Their goals since the club’s inception have been to enjoy DX (long-distance) QSOs and various contests.

JARL Kyoto Club received an ARDC grant to support an existing amateur training program for youth through 2028. With the grant funds they will add a new class for already-licensed students to upgrade their Japanese amateur radio license class to Class 3 from Class 4, the entry-level license. Their goals are to recruit 200 participants by March 2027.
