Grants Advisory Committee

The Grants Advisory Committee (GAC) is a group of volunteers that reviews and advises the ARDC Board of Directors on eligible proposals and helps identify potential grant-making opportunities. The volunteers serve for one year, with their terms beginning in January and running through December. Volunteers may serve for more than one year.

The time commitment can be considerable. The committee usually meets twice a month for at least an hour. In addition, committee members spend time reviewing proposals and email correspondence between meetings. Overall, committee members spend 2-5 hours/week on committee business.

To be eligible to serve on the GAC, an amateur radio license OR a technical degree OR experience in digital communications is necessary. In addition, we strive to find people with a broad range of experience, including K-12 education, university academics, and research and development.

Volunteers who are located outside of the United States are also welcome to apply. Please note that a good command of the English language and flexibility accommodating a broad range of time zones is needed to participate effectively.

How to Apply

We typically accept applications to join the GAC in October of each year. Send your application, including a resume and brief cover letter to hr@ardc.net. We’ll review all applications and make a decision by the end of November. Meetings begin mid-January.
