Grant: TangerineSDR Project Advancement

Date: May 2022
Amount: $125,540

TAPR is an organization of amateur radio operators who are truly advancing the state of the radio art. Conceived in 1981 and incorporated in 1982, TAPR was a pioneer in early amateur digital communications, developing the TNC1 and TNC2 modems that became ubiquitous in the 1980s and 1990s. Today, TAPR’s main activities are education and knowledge sharing through conferences; publications and Internet resources; research and development; and sales of unique products that assist amateurs and other experimenters.

This grant provides funding for Advanced Data Engine (DE-MK-II) design support, including float licenses for development tools, and for the MagnetoPiHat magnetometer build. This work will enhance the functionality and capabilities of the TangerineSDR modular SDR by adding an upgraded Data Engine to the existing stable of boards.
