Portal Middle High School in Portal, Georgia received an ARDC grant to purchase an HF radio and materials for building end-fed half-wave antennas. The project is part of a high school engineering class and afterschool club that teaches radio technology and communication. Students will design, build, and test antennas, operate the school radio station, and create basic how-to guides. The project also involves science class collaboration, outreach to elementary students, and support from the local amateur radio club.
