Grant: How Satellites in Space Help Us Improve Our Lives on Earth Coloring Book
Date: October 2025
Amount: $4,500
AMSAT, the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation, runs the KidzSat and BuzzSat programs to introduce young people to satellites and amateur radio. These resources are offered directly to families, youth leaders, and community groups, and are designed to be used independently of school curricula. The Youth Initiative aims to reach youth of all backgrounds and provide clear, accessible information about satellites.
This grant supports the publication of the coloring book, “How Satellites in Space Help Us Improve Our Lives on Earth,” created for young children. The book shows how satellites are used for weather prediction, navigation, communications, wildfire detection, and other practical applications. A volunteer team developed the storyline, and grant funds will cover the artwork and logo designs. The completed book will be available online to anyone interested in getting a copy at no cost as part of the KidzSat program.
