LibreCube is a German non-profit organization with the vision of making space accessible to all. They believe that everyone should have the opportunity to contribute to space exploration and focus on applying open-source principles to CubeSat and space development.

With this project, LibreCube will create an open-source dual-band transceiver board for VHF and UHF to provide a low-cost, reliable communication platform for CubeSat missions. It will support full-duplex operation, redundancy for reliability, and implement CCSDS protocols. The hardware will be built using ITAR-free and use commercial off-the-shelf components to facilitate collaboration with other future CubeSat projects. This project will make it easier for more people to design and build their own open-source CubeSats, helping more groups take part in future CubeSat projects.
