The Penn State Amateur Radio Club, K3CR, is one of the oldest student groups at Penn State’s University Park campus. Run by undergraduate and graduate students with support from faculty, staff, and local hams, the club focuses on learning and experimenting with amateur radio.

With support from ARDC, K3CR will repair and reinstall their HF beam, which was damaged in 2024 and rendered the club’s station inoperable. Once complete, the restored station will allow students to operate on HF bands, participate in contests, and grow their technical skills.
