Grant: Space Communications Outreach Portable Ground Station
Date: October 2025
Amount: $14,065
The Raleigh Amateur Radio Society (RARS) is a long-standing club in Raleigh, North Carolina that provides education, outreach, and public service communications. The group has supported many schools and youth programs through ARISS contacts and satellite demonstrations.
With this funding, the club will assemble a full portable ground station for ARISS and satellite work. The equipment will be kept ready for school events, youth activities, and training, allowing RARS to meet growing demand without relying on members’ personal stations. This project will expand the club’s ability to teach and demonstrate space communications.
