The Leffell School is a K–12 independent school in Westchester County with a strong engineering and makerspace program. Its students get early, hands-on experience with electronics, coding, and design. The school recently added a Space Program to give interested students a path into aerospace and radio communication.

The grant supports the next step in that work by funding a full satellite ground station. Students will learn how to track satellites, build and test antennas, work with VHF and UHF equipment, decode live signals, and prepare for their ham radio licenses.
