Grants Communications Team
The Grants Communications Team is a group of volunteers that help ARDC share the results of funded grants back with the public. Volunteers read project results and evaluation results and write brief summaries that can be understood by members of the general public. These volunteers help ARDC make individual grant results usable, understandible, and accessible by the general public. Volunteers will serve from January to December.
The Grants Communications Team will spend most of their time writing and editing. They will meet every two weeks as a group over Zoom for one hour. We anticipate that the total time commitment will be 2-3 hours a week.
Here are a few examples of completed project write-ups:
- RF Communications Summer School
- TAPR – TangerineSDR Prototype Build
- SkyHubLink System Hardening and Software Upgrade
- Engineering Upgrade Senior Project Support
- Chippewa Valley ARC – Emergency Trailer and Equipment
Eligibility
To be eligible to serve on the Grants Communications Team, an amateur radio license OR a technical degree OR experience in digital communications is necessary. In addition, some experience with writing is preferred, especially in science communications.
Volunteers who are located outside of the United States are also welcome to apply. Please note that a good command of the English language and flexibility accommodating a broad range of time zones is needed to participate effectively.
