Grant: Scholarship and Professional Development for Native Students

The Native Forward Scholars Fund is a national organization created to support Native Americans who wish to pursue higher education. Native Forward has established itself as the largest direct scholarship provider to Native American students, awarding between $11 million and $15 million dollars in scholarships annually. The Native Forward Scholars Fund engages Native students in programs that includes a suite of student support services. Native Forward partners with corporations and organization to connect students to internships, full time employee openings, and service opportunities. Native Forward creates representation and visibility in post-secondary institution environments by increasing access and opportunity for Native students.

This grant will allow Native Forward to provide Native Scholars access to communication and STEM-related fields, inlcuding radio communications , wireless engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, data communications, networking, mechanical/material science, emergency management communications, mathematics and physics. The goal is to reduce the unmet need of 15 Native students for the academic year 2023-2024. In addition, Native Forward plans to provide approximately 11 Native students with professional development or internship resources that will help them be successful in their field of study.
